RavenDb talk on Devsum11

Today I was talking about RavenDb on DevSum11 which was great fun. Just before me Mathias Stearn from the MongoDb team talked about MongoDb. It was really interesting to see an alternative document database as I've only played with CouchDb previously. And RavenDb of course.

I was under heavy competition from Udi Dahan who was giving a talk on High Availability and Dag König who was talking about Azure and Windows Phone, but I hope I delivered something interesting to the crowd that was looking to hear about RavenDb.

The sample project from my talk on RavenDb is available at the same location as for the presentation I did for Progressive.Net.

It should be covering the examples I went through and a bit more as well.

I was giving a practical introduction on RavenDb at Sweden Progressive .NET NoSQL evening on May 12, 2011.

The event was hosted by Valtech and started brilliantly with a talk by Mårten Gustafson about his experience on NoSQL in general.

There is a sample project with the code I used in the presentation.

Ok, so my first Orchard web site is online after an extremely smooth process.

I was listening to half of the Hanselminutes episode on WebMatrix this morning and decided I had to take this ~~baby~~ thing for a test run and now I have done it.

Who is this for then? I mean, it's really, REALLY easy to set up beginning with the Web Platform Installer. I would almost want to call it fool proof. I didn't read any docs nor did I write a single line of code. So if that's your thing, maybe this is an alternative for you?

Creating a blog could be something sprung from brilliant ideas charged with loads of ambition. In this case it may be, I honestly don't know. I know I want to share what I find out during my long days digging in the .NET Framework (and friends), but is this the forum that will suit me?

Many before me have written their first post just like I am doing now. Most certainly they had something more interesting to share for their first post that the contents of this post.

Maybe I can get away with it if I say I'm just trying Orchard out along with its somewhat unusual friend the WebMatrix.

Well, that has to be all for now. Let's get this site online!
